'2141' is the distance in time between the birth of two entities. It’s a perpetual line existing within space and time, it keeps you close, it’s comforting and it will never change - Not many things in life 'Never Change'. 2141, is a collection of work that filters the passage of time in everyday life and experience. Built with monotone gestural movements the images constructed are at times over worked, becoming reminiscent of the intricate and time consuming process of weaving. Simultaneously, the unresolved quick paintings, formed with block colours and trees transport us back to the wooden structures we played with as children. In essence, echoing the 60’s and making connections to Italian Enzo Mari’s 16 animal puzzle designs. As the concept of time is hard to grasp, I paint myself and the life that surrounds me. Continuously, I am reminded that Nature is constant and Time is perpetual.
